All Together Now

Say it with us! Let’s rewind to the June bank holiday, when music lovers set up camp on the stunning grounds of Curraghmore Estate in Waterford for All Together Now festival. There were 18 stages which saw hundreds of acts giving it socks, including Jungle, Gemma Dunleavy, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and CMAT. What a line up! We had Wrkstars singing along from behind bars and by barriers, working as servers and stewards.

Tommy Tiernan

A job for our most poker faced employees  – who can take an order without bursting out laughing at comedian Tommy Tiernan’s background commentary? Our Wrkstars struggled to contain their giggles at this charming stand up event in the Gleneagle INEC Arena. A fantastic gig, in both senses of the word.

Electric Picnic

Perhaps the most iconic Irish event to work a shift at, this year our Wrkstars poured pints and pointed in the right direction while legends like Arctic Monkeys, Fred Again and The Kooks blared in the background. After a three year hiatus, it felt great to be back in Stradbally sharing the love. Even the rain couldn’t dampen our spirits…probably because everyone kept ordering doubles.

Fleadh Cheoil

Ah sure look, the list wouldn’t be complete without an event where traditional Irish tunes are at the forefront. For the world’s largest annual celebration of Irish music and dancing, we staffed bars and restaurants dotted around Mullingar. Should we add a couple of Irish words to our training? Nah, Guinness means the same thing everywhere.

Hella Mega Tour

Probably our most badass shift of all time, we piled Rocksta- eh, Wrkstars onto buses from Galway and Limerick to serve concert goers in Marley Park for the Hella Mega Tour starring Greenday, Weezer and Fall Out Boy. Staff with dyed hair and piercings; it was finally your time to shine.

American Football Game

In one of the most exciting events of the year, American Football Team’s Northwestern and Nebraska went head to head in the Aviva stadium. Keeping up with the dramatics of American Football, our staff were in for a surprise when the card machines went down, and all of the attendants received free beer while they waited to power them back up. Handing out drinks for free? Now that’s a dream gig.
