Revolut Changes Irish IBAN Formatting: What You Need to Know

As of April 2023, current Revolut users in Ireland are transitioning to an Irish IBAN that begins with the letters "IE,". If you use Revolut to get paid for your Wrk, keep reading.

Revolut, the prominent digital banking platform and student banking favourite, has recently introduced changes to the format of the IBAN for its Irish customers. As of April 2023, current Revolut users in Ireland are transitioning to an Irish IBAN that begins with the letters “IE,” and new accounts have already been assigned the new Irish IBAN. If you use Revolut to get paid for your Wrk, keep reading.

This format replaces the prior Lithuanian “LT” format which had 20 characters, with a 22-character Irish format starting with “IE,” effective from March 2023.

If you are a Revolut user with an Irish IBAN number, you may need to update your bank information on the WrkWrk app. When adding bank details, individuals with an “IE” IBAN must select the “Standard Bank Account” option rather than the “Revolut” option on the WrkWrk mobile app.

We understand that this update may cause inconvenience, but we want to ensure that our users are aware of this change and take the necessary steps to avoid any issues with their bank details. And of course, so you can keep getting paid.

If you have any questions or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to contact our support team. We are always available to assist you in any way we can.
