If you’re looking to celebrate Pride 2023 in Ireland, there are tons of festivals happening across the whole summer. Parades have already happened in Mayo and Donegal, and several other counties are waiting in the wings to host their Pride Festivals. Highlights include the Pride parades and marches, bloc parties, Pride villages, pop-up shops and more!

This year holds particular meaning as it’s the 30th anniversary of homosexuality being decriminalised in Ireland, and Dublin Pride is celebrating 40 years since the first Dublin Pride Parade.

Dublin Pride – 24th June

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the first Dublin Pride Parade! The Dublin Pride Festival runs from 20th June to 25th, however, the whole month of June is Pride with a calendar full of events and activities for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies – find out more by visiting https://dublinpride.ie

Carlow Pride – 3rd July

The theme for this year’s Carlow Pride event is Hope. The aim is to encourage involvement from the wider community and highlight the great variety of people that make Carlow such a vibrant and exciting place to live and visit.

Limerick Pride – 3rd July

Limerick Pride Festival will take place from July 3rd-9th, with the much-loved Limerick Pride parade on Saturday, 8th July.
Ahead of their week of festivities, Limerick will host a rainbow swim on 24th June to mark the 30-year anniversary of homosexuality being decriminalised in Ireland.

Kerry’s Pride – 10th July

Kingdom Pride is Kerry’s annual LGBTQ+ festival, and they will be celebrating for a full week from 10 to 16th July in locations across the county, with the Pride Parade taking place in Killarney on Saturday 15th July.

Drogheda Pride – 21st July

The Drogheda Pride Festival 2023 looks set to be the biggest and best yet, with five days of events for all the community to enjoy and celebrate diversity.

Belfast Pride – 29th July

Belfast Pride runs from 21st July to 30th July, with their main parade on Saturday 29th July. They hope their 2023 parade will be their biggest since they were founded in 1991.

Cork Pride – 30th July

Cork Pride will take place from Sunday, 30th July, to Sunday, 6th August. The theme of this year’s event is 30 years on, celebrating 30 years of Cork Pride, with the fabulous Cork Pride Parade on the last day of the festival, 6th August.
Cork will have Wild Youth headlining their festivities for Pride 2023.

Galway Pride Festival – 7th August

The annual Galway Pride Festival, “the longest continual Pride event in Ireland”, is expected to take place from Monday 7th August to Sunday 13th August. Events throughout the week will include evenings of information and awareness, arts and performance, music nights and the colourful parade on the final Saturday of the festival.

Waterford Pride – 18th August

Pride of the Déise is an LGBTQIA+ Pride Festival in Waterford. The fourth annual event takes place 2nd – 5th June 2023

Don’t forget to check out your local LGBTQ+ business to see what events are happing in your area! For example, Outhouse in Dublin is running events throughout June, including social clubs, debates and panel discussions.
